A US male who sent some-more than 27 million spam emails to Facebook users has been condemned to dual and a half years in prison.
Sanford Wallace, 47, is nicknamed a “Spam King” and final year pleaded guilty to sovereign charges including rascal and rapist disregard in tie with regulating electronic mail.
Wallace, who is from Las Vegas, also faces a excellent of $310,000 (£218,500).
The messages were sent to Facebook users in 2008 and 2009.
An FBI review resulted in Wallace’s charge after he incited himself in, in 2011.
“Wallace illegally obtained, stored, and exploited Facebook user comment information and warranted income by redirecting users to other websites,” a statement from a US Attorney’s Office said.
Wallace duped users into visiting websites after gaining entrance to people’s Facebook accounts and afterwards regulating those accounts to send spam messages to friends.
He warranted income by promulgation users to these destinations and stored email addresses and passwords in sequence to continue promulgation spam.
