AROUND 6000 people dressed as Santa Claus and his elves have run a “mini-marathon” by a streets of Madrid to foster gratifying hearten as a nation tries to emerge from a two-year recession.


While grown-ups dressed in red costumes with wispy white beards, children donned immature elfin outfits to run a 5.5 kilometre march on Saturday by a city centre.

The competition was organized by one of Spain’s heading dialect stores and it contributed one euro ($1.55) for any entrant to a gift that buys Christmas presents for deprived children around a world.

Javier Menendez, one of a runners, pronounced he was astounded during a series of people who have donned a robes for a run.
