Draymond Green listed at No. 10 in Sports Illustrated’s top 100 NBA players of 2018

Former Michigan State forward Draymond Green was one of college basketball’s top players in 2012. Now, entering his sixth professional season, he’s viewed as one of the best in the NBA.

On Thursday, Sports Illustrated released Nos. 1-10 of its top 100 NBA players of 2018. The Golden State Warriors power forward came in at No. 10.

Green, once a consensus first-team All-American at Michigan State, is now a two-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA All-Defensive first team member. Guard Stephen Curry and forward Kevin Durant, No. 2 and No. 3 on the list, respectively, headlined the Warriors’ 2017 NBA title run. But Green is a defensive playmaker and the one who helps the NBA’s most-prolific offense run smoothly.

“If Green (10.2 PPG, 7.9 RPG, 7.0 APG) comes off as arrogant, it’s only because he knows exactly how good he is,” Sports Illustrated’s Rob Mahoney wrote in his description of Green.

“Green, the patron saint of getting s*** done, is an absolute menace,” Mahoney added.
